Alongside its much-anticipated return this July, the Farm Shop & Deli Show is set to launch a new Meat Product Awards scheme to showcase the quality and calibre of produce supplied by the industry.

The awards have been tipped to become the gold-standard in butchery produce – an indication of all-round excellence. Entries will be scrutinised by an esteemed panel of judges who will consider taste, sustainability and provenance before awarding category winners.

Andrew Reed, Managing Director Events & Exhibitions says, “There’s no doubt that the COVID-19 crisis amplified the demand for locally-sourced, high-quality products. Consumers are considering origin and welfare more than ever before and retailers who adapt their offering stand to profit. In creating these awards, we hope to shine a spotlight on the fantastic UK butchers behind these products and champion their dedication to excellence.

“What’s more, a recently completed survey revealed that 94% of respondents consider attending Farm Shop & Deli Show as important to their business and it’s fitting that following a very tough year we come together and launch these awards in recognition of their expertise.”

The awards will kick off in 2021 with an exclusive focus on meat-based products, celebrating produce reared and produced exclusively in the UK. Entries will be judged on 6th July, with the category winners announced later that same day, live on Foodex Centre Stage. Farm Shop & Deli Show will be held at NEC Birmingham between the 5th and 7th July 2021.

Farm Shop & Deli Show is part of the UK Food & Drink Shows, run by William Reed Business Media. To enter the Meat Product Awards please visit:
