What is the event about?

Foodex is the show for everyone involved in the processing, packaging and logistics of food and drink products. Four major shows at the NEC combine to give visitors an unparalleled view of the food and drink supply chain; Foodex, Food & Drink Expo incorporating the Farm Shop & Deli Show and the National Convenience Show.

Where is the event?

Halls 3 & 3a, The NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT

Who is exhibiting at the event?

Foodex exhibitors cover the length and breadth of the food and drink processing sector; coming from all sectors including meat, fresh, dairy, beverages and seafood.

Who should visit the event?

Everyone involved in the processing, packaging or retailing of food and drink products including production managers, factory managers, food technologists and hygiene managers as well as butchers, farm shops and other retailers. Plus logistics professionals, site owners and managers, operations managers and company directors.

Will there be any seminars, workshops or demonstrations?

Yes, there will be a number of features running throughout the show including demonstrations, masterclasses and topical seminars and debates. Full details will be available closer to the event - click the "Live Events" button on the top of the page to find out more and see the programme from 2016.

Is there a catalogue?

Yes, this will be available at the show free of charge to all visitors.

If I have registered for the exhibition, can I attend on more than one day?

Yes, once registered you can come along any day and your badge allows you in on multiple days.

If I have registered for Foodex, can I attend the other shows?

Yes, registering for Foodex also allows you access to Food & Drink Expo, National Convenience Show and the Farm Shop & Deli Show.

How can I register?

Can I register my colleague and/or friend?

Yes, once you have registered yourself online, you can register a colleague or friend that is also within the industry.

I attended the event last year; will I automatically receive a badge?

No you will need to pre register.

I'm worried that I haven't received my badge yet, what can I do?

Badges will be emailed to you prior to the event unless opted otherwise. If you have opted to have your badge mailed to you, you will receive this  two weeks prior to the show. If you don't receive your badge you can turn up on the day and a new badge can be printed very quickly for you.

What type of ID do I need to bring as I am in the process of setting up a business in the trade?

Please bring a business card if you have one.

Can I visit the event if I'm not in the trade?

No, this is not a consumer show.

Is there a charge for registering pre-event?

No, entrance is free to the trade.

Is there a charge to register on the door?

No, entrance is free to the trade.

Do I have to provide all of my personal details?

Foodex is independently audited and therefore we require the mandatory fields on the registration form.

I don't want to be contacted after the event; how can I prevent this from happening?

Please make sure you tick the correct boxes when registering. Otherwise email stating this.

I am a student; can I visit the event?

Yes, but by prior arrangement only. Please email

Can my children visit the event with me?

No, this is a trade event and strictly no under 16s will be admitted including babes in arms.

Is there a cloakroom at the event?

Yes. This will be situated within the Atrium, just outside the Halls. Items cost £1.

There will be a VIP lounge at the event for use by international visitors. Full details will be confirmed shortly.

How do I get to the event?

By Road
The NEC is situated at the hub of the UK motorway network, enabling visitors to travel directly from the M6, M1, M40 and M42. The NEC has its own on-site car parks located close to the exhibition halls.

Standard Parking - £12 per day

Standard parking is available in our North, South and East Car Parks, with regular shuttle buses to take you from these car parks to the halls. Standard parking is not pre-bookable. Just follow the signs when you arrive, and pay by cash or card, if required, at the nearest kiosk. If you prefer, you can pay at the kiosk on the way back or at the exit - but in general itís quicker to buy your ticket before you go back to your car.

Please note, some events include standard car parking as part of the ticket price. Check the event details in our Whatís On section to see if this applies to you.

Express Parking - £20 per day

Why not plan ahead and pre-book a guaranteed space in a designated NEC Express parking area, with only a short walk to the halls? You can arrive and depart at any time between 8am and 6.30pm, and if youíre planning on doing some shopping your car is nice and close - so you can drop your bags off and get back to the show. NEC Express is pre-bookable from approximately 3 months before the event up until midnight the day prior to the event.

By Rail
The NEC is served by Birmingham International Railway Station, connected by a covered bridge link. Travel time from London is just 90 minutes and trains run directly to many regional towns and cities. By Air
Just seconds from the NEC, the new Monorail Link provides a direct rail link from Birmingham International Airport to the NEC. Over 20 international airlines serve the airport, providing scheduled flights from 34 destinations in the UK, Europe and America. Will there be anywhere that I can access the internet while I'm at the event?

Yes, within the Business Centre.

Can I hire a wheelchair at the event?

Yes, you can hire manual wheelchairs only. There is no charge but a deposit will be required.

What is wheelchair access like at the venue?


Are pushchairs allowed into the exhibition halls?

No the show is strictly no under 16s. No children, infants or babes in arms will be allowed into the show.

Will there be anywhere to buy food while I'm at the exhibition?

Yes, there are several outlets within the halls
