Foodex 2016, the UK’s premier trade event for the food and drink processing, packaging, ingredients and logistics industries, has announced a collaboration with leading trade associations to deliver expert advice and insight across the bakery, beverage, dairy, fresh, ingredients, logistics, meat and seafood sectors.

Visitors at the NEC from 18-20 April can join experts from the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association, Food Storage & Distribution Federation, Craft Bakers Association, British Soft Drinks Association and the UK Warehouse Association.

Exhibiting within the Sustainability Zone on stand E296, the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA), a not-for-profit organisation representing businesses in the anaerobic digestion sector, will reveal the exceptional opportunities in the UK AD market. Charlotte Morton, Chief Executive of ADBA, will also take to the Centre Stage at Foodex on Monday 18 April at 15:15 to host a session titled ‘AD: An opportunity too good to waste’. Charlotte will be joined by Richard Gueterbock, Managing Director at Clearfleau Limited and a panel of experts to discuss the way forward for turning waste into energy and biofertiliser.

Visitors can also join the Food Storage & Distribution Federation team on stand M309 to hear more about what the Federation is doing for its members and how visitors can get involved. The FSDF will also be hosting a breakfast briefing on Tuesday 19 April at 09.00-10.30 before the show opens. From specialist seminars and vocational training to member networking events and government lobby, the Federation will reveal how it is working hard to educate and support its members and the wider temperature-controlled food storage and distribution industry across all areas of the business.

Over on stands L312/L316 the UK Warehousing Association, Britain’s leading trade organisation for the logistics sector, will preview Feeding London in 2030 – a study commissioned to explore future issues affecting food industry logistics in London. Peter Ward, CEO of the UKWA will take to the Centre Stage to help visitors understand the logistical and supply chain challenges behind keeping the capital fed and watered in the future. The session, which takes place on Monday 18 April at 12.15 and on Wednesday 20 April at 10.00 will offer exclusive insights from the landmark study, including the critical role of the logistics sector for food manufacturing, food service wholesale and food retail, as well as offering attendees the first chance to pick up a copy of the report.

Also taking to the centre stage, Gavin Partington, Director General of the British Soft Drinks Association, will join a panel of industry experts and Business Broadcaster Steph McGovern to address what matters most to the food and drink industry. The panel will discuss the pressing issues and key trends from across the sector, sharing their in-depth insights and answering attendees’ questions.

Craft Bakers Association will also be exhibiting at Foodex 2016, and will invite visitors interested in the latest information and advice for craft and artisan bakers to join them on stand E220. The team will also be available to discuss membership options and the opportunities granted to CBA members.
