MARKET EMBRACES NEW FOODEX - Strong sales approve enhancement of leading food manufacturing show

Earlier this year William Reed Business Media announced plans to extend its market leading food & drink manufacturing show, Foodex, to create a single must-attend event for professionals across the whole spectrum of food & drink manufacture and supply chain.  This move, which saw bakery, ingredients and logistics added to Foodex’s portfolio, has been applauded by the market and welcomed by both new and established exhibitors.

“Though we are still seven months out from the show, more than 70% of available space has been sold and we have strong interest in remaining places,” says Daren Rose-Neale, Event Director for Foodex 2012.  “In bakery, ingredients and logistics in particular, we have seen strong sales and enthusiastic support for the creation of a show that will give exhibitors exposure to a wide range of visitors from every area of food & drink manufacture.”

Recently signed exhibitors include leading players in bakery, ingredients and logistics, as well as traditional areas such as meat, fresh, seafood and dairy.

Terry O’Donoghue, UK Sales Manager for Burford, says:

“We have previously exhibited at WRMB’s specialist bakery events, but we welcome the opportunity to be ‘in the thick of it’ with a bigger audience that extends across a whole range of food sectors.  We expect higher footfall and an opportunity to meet with buyers beyond our bakery heartland.”

David Emslie, Group Sales Director for Canute Group, says:

“Following our highly successful debut a the food and logistics shows in 2010 we’re confident that Foodex will give us access, not only to the traditional logistics decision makers who might attend a specialist logistics show, but to the wide range of food manufacturing professionals who increasingly see supply chain as a component of their operation and who strongly influence buying decisions.”

Jim Sydenham, Joint Managing Director, Interfood Technology says:

“Foodex has always been an important part of our marketing plans, hence our significant increased investment to take an even bigger stand in 2012.  It has always attracted the key players in the industry and I’m sure will do so again. It is an excellent opportunity for us to show both existing and potential customers the latest developments in processing technology and ingredients, and we are looking forward to a busy show.”

Numerous industry associations are also expressing their support and partnership including United Kingdom Warehousing Association,  the  Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the Food Storage & Distribution Federation, the British Society of Bakers, the British Soft Drinks Association,  the Fresh Produce Consortium, the Guild of Butchers, the British Meat Processors Association and Seafish.

Foodex will take place over three action-packed days between 25 and 27 March 2012 at the NEC, Birmingham.  It will be supported by an international marketing campaign across traditional and online media.
