Retail Highlight – Introducing the Bizerba K-Series Touchscreen Weighing Scales
K-Series touchscreen scales integrate all the key retail tasks – weighing, cash-till functions, advertising, printing and advising in a single solution. The K-series scales make customer and function specific operating routines possible. The ergonomic, intuitive and incredibly flexible user interface enables price, tare and best before date to be overwritten with a fingertip and the screen appearance can be adapted to fit with corporate design. A second customer-facing screen, up to 12.1” in size also guarantees the brilliant display of advertising, sales promotion activities, consumer information, extra tips or recipes.

A modern design which fits all interiors and the hygienic surfaces made of the highest-quality materials are a delight. Rounded surfaces without corners and rims to trap dirt make thorough cleaning easy.

K-Series touchscreen scales are intelligent platforms for presenting advertising contents, for cross-selling as well as for staff training and consumer advise. Pictures, films, master templates and contents, including carbon footprint data, are available for easy downloading and can be uploaded easily without any special technical knowledge. Customers interested in healthy eating receive competent information or nutritional values and customers with allergies and food intolerance can be given recommendations for safe purchases. Industry Highlight – C-Wrap Food Labeller
Automatic label application for a range of pack sizes and shapes; products include meat, fish, fresh produce, ready meals and whole birds.

In conjunction with a robust range of high speed labellers, this unit has been designed to provide a space efficient and flexible weigh labelling system to enable C-Wrap or conventional Top Label application from one unit. To meet with various labelling requirements of the food industry, the Bizerba GLM-I C-Wrap can be converted in a matter of seconds to either apply conventional labels to the top of the pack of by re-fitting the quick release C-Wrap plates the now more common “three panel” label can be applied.

Printing methods are also versatile as the label printer can run with either Direct Thermal or Non Thermal labels and can print in any area along a maximum 300mm length of label. This large print area allows data that is non-essential for the customer to view, i.e. barcode, batch number, time stamp to be printed on the part of the label that is adhered to the underside of the pack. Having a barcode on the underside will also lead to easier scanning at the checkout as the pack will not have to be turned in any way to be scanned but simply passed over the scanner window. With a typical length of 250mm, a pack speed of between 55 and 60 packs per minute is achieved in C-Wrap mode; in standard operation the device is specified at a maximum throughput of 100 packs per minute.
